NDIS Support Coordination in Maroubra and Sydney’s East

Overview

We coordinate across Sydney’s eastern suburbs, including Maroubra, Daceyville, Eastlakes, Malabar, La Perouse, Little Bay, Randwick and Kingsford.

What we see

What we see in Maroubra

The east reads as affluent from the outside, and that image hides some of the oldest and most concentrated social housing communities in Sydney. Daceyville was Australia’s first public housing suburb and remains one of its most concentrated. Eastlakes, Maroubra and La Perouse carry substantial estates of their own.

Living with disability inside a wealthy district creates its own problems. Services price for the postcode average. Waitlists fill with private referrals. A person on a pension in a housing estate is technically surrounded by providers and practically unable to use most of them. Coordination here is often about finding the supports that actually take the funding a plan contains, and building the case for more where the plan was written thin.

Local knowledge

Local knowledge

The Prince of Wales hospital campus in Randwick, including its spinal service, anchors health care for the district. People leaving long admissions carry the highest-stakes plans we see, with large funding, big support teams and the most to lose from a slow start. That window is the part of the work we treat as urgent.

Coordination is available in English, Hindi and Nepali.

In Maroubra we provide support coordination, specialist support coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching.
